Zil Air prides itself as being the first choice for any professional photographer & filming crew. The Airbus H-120 helicopters are designed and equipped for aerial photography and surveys. The aircrafts are equipped with slide-away and lockable doors which are easy to open and close during flight without any danger to occupants. There is little impact to aircraft performance in this configuration, this means that no landings are necessary for removal of doors, nor specialised crew required to operate the doors during photo or video shoots. Positioning flights on distant locations can be achieved under full aircraft performance. For filming operation with the door open, the number of occupants is restricted to two (2).
The absence of ‘exposed’ tail rotor blades ensures safety whilst operating in a confined space, or in areas where guests, crew and equipment are nearby. The Airbus Fenestron rotor system, together with a three bladed main rotor head, are amongst the reasons why the H-120 helicopters are 30% quieter than anything in its class, and as stable a platform as one can expect in helicopters of this size.
The helicopters can be fitted with under-belly remote controlled cameras for professional High Definition (HD) filming. This service is made possible through third party service providers. Professional planning and briefing are required for special operations, and permission from the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) may be required to carry out filming operations or low-level flying. The Zil Air team will establish all the necessary parameters, and ensure all safety aspects have been complied with.
Our helicopters can be equipped with ‘bambi’ water buckets to assist in firefighting operations, on request. Firefighting operations are coordinated through the Division of Risk & Disaster Management on +248 2 2722 101 or +248 2 722 980. Zil Air will assist, if requested by the relevant authorities and will seek to provide equipment to meet any requirements. Private requests will only be entertained should appropriate clearances be obtained from the relevant authorities, which can be processed by the Zil Air Operations Team.
Our H-120 helicopters are ideal for lifting loads up to 300kgs. Cargo slinging is done with nets, barrel slings and long line hooks. Upon request we can also do banner towing.
Zil Air has the capability to transport passengers whose injuries or illness permits them to fly in a seated position. There are no supplementary charges on the above service as no aircraft re-configuration is required; (on the single engine fleet). However, positioning charges or reconfiguration charges will become applicable if the helicopters need to be fitted with a stretcher.
Zil Air helicopters have the ability to assist in other specialized operations such as search and rescue. Visibility from the Airbus Helicopter glass bubble is excellent and every seat offers uninterrupted views, allowing search teams to scan more effectively. The fast cruise mode again comes in handy as one can swiftly reach a determined search zone in good time while fuel endurance can be stretched to around four hours of nonstop operations, subject to the load factor. Search and rescue operations are coordinated via the Seychelles Coast Guard (+248 4 224 161), the Seychelles Police (+248 4288 000) or alternatively through the Division of Risk & Disaster Management on +248 2 722 101 or +248 2 722 980. Zil Air will assist, if requested by the relevant authorities and will seek to provide equipment to meet any requirements. Private requests will only be entertained should appropriate clearances be obtained from the relevant authorities, which can be processed by the Zil Air Operations Team on request.
Zil Air helicopters are capable of providing ship services for crew changes, spare parts or emergency services. This service is only available if the ship has a helideck. A proper plan of the helideck should be made available, or else a site visit will be required prior to any operation on the ship.
