The 1st April 2019, marks 10 years since Zil Air, Seychelles’ aerial limo service provider, received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC). This certification received in April 2009 allowed the company to commence its commercial operations from its base on Mahe, with two H-120 Airbus helicopters. The two helicopters, registered as S7-ZIL and S7-AIR has each the capacity to carry up to four passengers plus one pilot.

Over the last 10 years, Zil Air has witnessed immense growth in terms of both capacity and staffing. The company today operates a fleet of six helicopters in total, with the recent addition of another H-120 aircraft registered as S7-FLY, which arrived in March this year. Zil Air also expects to welcome a brand new P2012; a 10 seater fixed wing aircraft in July, which will be the second aircraft to join the current fix wing fleet.

To match this growth in capacity, Zil Air has also had to grow its team of professionals to meet the various demands of its operation. As it stands, Zil Air employs a little over 85 staff to oversee its seven day operation. In March the business proudly welcomed another addition, Mr. Thierry Hoareau, to the team of pilots. Thierry is a young Seychellois licensed pilot, the very first to have undergone training as part of an agreement between Zil Air and the National Human Resources Development Council (NHRDC). Zil Air’s quest to have more and more Seychellois pilots is at the core of its vision, and the further development of their team remains high on the management’s agenda.

2019 will certainly be a remarkable year for the company. Zil Air has freshly released its revamped and full integrated website (www.zilair.com) where visitors can have a better apercu of the company’s scenic, transfer and excursion packages. This will soon be accompanied by a modern e-commerce payment platform, all in the spirit of bettering their customers’ experience. In terms of initiatives to celebrate this momentous occasion, Zil Air will be awarding certificates to eight of its staff, for their dedication over the last 10 years. Various activities has also been mapped out for the duration of the year through Zil Air’s social media platforms, local radio stations and press partners where participants stand the chance of winning amazing prizes.
